Oman plans to develop an additional liquefied natural gas (LNG) train with a capacity of 3.8 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) at Qalhat Industrial Complex in the Wilayat of Sur, South A’Sharqiyah Governorate.
The move comes as part of Oman’s ongoing commitment to contribute to energy security in response to growing demand for green energy.
The strategic expansion will boost Oman’s production of LNG to 15.2 MTPA, optimise the utilisation of the country’s available discovered volumes of natural gas resources, while enhancing its LNG export capabilities.
The Government is now progressing with finalising the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) Study for this new LNG train project, paving the way for Final Investment Decision (FID).
