Pure-play carbon capture company Nuada aims to accelerate decarbonisation of the cement industry with the announcement of new partnerships with cement firms Holcim, SCG, Cementos Argos and Cementos Molins.
Responsible for around 7% of global carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, the cement industry has been targeted as a key area for decarbonisation efforts. To enable this reduction, carbon capture is seen as a key focus and is anticipated to account for more than a third of all the emissions reductions needed.
Facilitated through the Global Cement and Concrete Association, Nuada’s new partnerships will accelerate the development of next-generation carbon capture technology as a solution to deliver low-carbon cement.
