Belfast-based carbon capture company Nuada has announced the launch of a new £1m project after it became the latest innovator to be awarded grant funding from Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ).
A raft of announcements have been made this week from companies across the decarbonisation and clean energies movement in the UK, from hydrogen project funding through to carbon capture schemes and facilities.
Nuada is the latest to reveal the support for its technologies, awarded a £666,525.00 grant from the DESNZ Carbon Capture, Usage and Storage (CCUS) Innovation 2.0 programme to advance carbon capture in the Waste-to-Energy (WtE) industry.
As a result, it has now confirmed the launch of a £1m project in collaboration with the Translational Energy Research Centre (TERC), a national pilot-testing research facility at the University of Sheffield.
