Japanese gas giants Nippon Sanso Holdings Corporation (NSHD) and Nippon Gases have signed the UN Global Compact (UNGC) – a voluntary effort by companies and organisations to pursue a ‘more sustainable’ society.
The UNGC requires all participants to adhere to four ‘areas’ that contribute to a sustainable society.
These areas are stated as: human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption and are underlined by a total of ten principles.
