Norway researchers produce pure oxygen from ‘leftover’ materials

With pure oxygen in rising demand among medical and industrial sectors, sourcing it is an ongoing challenge in a sustainable-oriented era.

Researchers from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) now believe they have made a breakthrough using ‘cheap, dirty leftover’ materials.

Professor Sverre Magnus Selbach at NTNU’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering, said, “We have identified materials that can store and release pure oxygen much faster and at much lower temperatures than known materials currently used for this purpose.”
