Proposed legislation could further support the carbon capture, utilisation and storage industry, Andrew Clint, Partner at R. Reese & Associates, has told gasworld US CO2 Summit delegates.
The Carbon Capture and Utilization Parity Act was what he was referring to here. Introduced by introduced by Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., and Sen. Bill Cassidy, the act hopes to create parity between the credit value for utilization and sequestration in the 45Q carbon capture tax credit for both the direct air capture and the power and industrial sectors.
