Norway’s largest supplier of commercial carbon dioxide (CO2), Nippon Gases Norway (Nippon Gases) has signed a long-term deal to extract an undisclosed amount of CO2 from a biogas production facility owned and operated by RENEVO AS (RENEVO).
By integrating carbon capture with biogas production, RENEVO can capture CO2 produced during the processing of raw materials such as manure and fish waste.
To do this, the company insulates, purifies and liquefies the raw biogas to make climate neutral bioCO2.
Stating that liquid bioCO2 is a ‘unique product’ in Norway, in addition to being a good climate measure, Jan Kåre Pedersen, General Manager at RENEVO added, “Users of CO2 in Western Norway can through this agreement gain access to a locally sourced and environmentally friendly product.”
