One of Africa’s leading oil companies, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), has targeted domestic and international supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) having signed two major LNG delivery deals at COP28.
Under the agreements, NNPC will work with Chinese Wison Heavy Industry Co. Ltd to develop a floating LNG project in Nigeria while NNPC Prime LNG signed a Supply, Installation and Commissioning deal with SDP Services – an independent oil and gas company – for a small scale 421 tonnes per day LNG project.
The agreements aim to boost natural gas utilisation in the country and enhance Nigeria’s gas revenue by supplying LNG both domestically and internationally.
