A screening study designed to support carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) operators to identify suitable carbon dioxide (CO2) storage sites has been released by global geoscience technology company CGG.
The study, GeoVerse Carbon Storage, is based on the Northern North Sea, allowing licensees to assess possible CO2 storage sites over its North Viking Graben 3D seismic dataset, including areas in both UK and Norwegian waters.
The screening study is part of CGG’s new suite of products intended to support the energy transition, tapping into the company’s experience providing support for various CCUS projects including Sleipner, Troll, Weyburn, Pembina and Gorgon.
“These new GeoVerse products will address a wide spectrum of applications, from geothermal resource assessment, through critical mineral exploration, and carbon sequestration,” commented Sophie Zurquiyah, CEO, CGG.
