A new, privately-owned oxygen (O2) and nitrogen (N2) plant is now reportedly up and running in Eastern Nangarhar province.
The plant, founded by Dr. Nasimullah Darman, cost approximately $350,000 and will produce O2 and N2 24 hours a day.
The plant has been built to international standards and will supply Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman and Nuristan provinces – areas that were previously forced to import O2 from Kabul and other foreign counties.
Dr. Darman expects the new plant to open up employment opportunities for around 250 individuals, a prospect welcomed by the local communities.
