Global energy infrastructure company New Fortress Energy has received an export permit for its Altamira Fast LNG facility from Mexico’s Ministry of Energy.
The permit authorises New Fortress Energy to export up to 7.8 million metric tonnes from the Mexico-based site through to April 2028, supporting operations of the 1.4 million tonnes per annum Fast LNG facility.
New Fortress Energy has already received authorisation from the US Department of Energy to export US-sourced LNG to Mexico and other free trade agreement countries.
Wes Edens, Chairman and CEO of New Fortress Energy, described the permit as the final piece to the puzzle for launching Fast LNG in Altamira.
