New 3D-Printed Indian rocket motor sets record

Skyroot Aerospace, an Indian space tech start-up based in Hyderabad, successfully test-fired its latest 3D-printed rocket engine.

Dubbed the Dhawan II, the cryogenic rocket engine uses a blend of rocket propellants—liquid natural gas (LNG) and liquid oxygen (LoX), which require temperatures below -150 degrees Celsius. (Hence the appellation, cryogenic.)

By comparison with many common rocket engine technologies, both propellants are green-burning propellants and are considered environmentally friendly.
