Under the new name of Sofis, Dutch firm Netherlocks and UK-based Smith Flow Control have merged to form a new corporate identity.
The two leading valve operation brands have combined forces with the aim of becoming a bigger, stronger and market-led company.
Netherlocks has been manufacturing industrial valve operation systems since 1993, including valve interlocks and portable valve actuators, whilst Smith Flow Control was formed in 1985 and was the first organisation to introduce the coded card linear key concept to interlocking, as well as specialising in valve control equipment and remote valve operators.
By combining operations, the new company, which will operate from nine different countries, will offer a new regional sales structure for enhanced local support as well as improved application engineering and after-sales service.
