NEL Fuel AS (NEL), subsidiary of NEL ASA, has entered a final agreement with fellow Norwegian country Uno-X to rollout a minimum of 20 hydrogen (H2) refuelling stations throughout the Scandinavian country.
The dual scheme will build a network of H2 stations with H2 production onsite, so that fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) can operate throughout all the major cities in Norway. The facilities will be deployed in cities such as Bergen, Trondheim, Stavanger, Kristiansand and the capital Oslo.
It is understood that NEL will provide all the technology for H2 production, along with the refuelling stations themselves, whilst Uno-X will be the main brand of the joint venture.
We see this as the start of establishing a real, commercial network of hydrogen refuelling stations in Norway
Although financials were not disclosed, the joint venture, entitled Uno-X Hydrogen AS, sees Uno-X owning the slightly bigger slice of 51% with NEL owning 49%.
