Netherlands-based hydrogen fuel cell solutions provider Nedstack Fuel Cell Technology (Nedstack) has received Approval in Principle for its PemGen 600 Maritime Fuel Cell System from leading testing, inspection and certification agency Bureau Veritas.
Harnessing its experience in industrial applications of LT-PEM fuel cell technology, the hydrogen-powered system is designed to generate a high power output for marine vessels while producing zero harmful emissions.
The award validates the compliance of the PemGen fuel cell system design with BV’s NR467 – Classification Rules for fuel cell power systems on board ships.
According to Nedstack, it will continue to work closely with BV throughout the classification and certification process to ensure the ‘highest standards’ of safety and performance are met.
