As a major by-product of ammonia production, the global CO2 industry is heavily reliant on the fertiliser sector. Following closures of major UK plants and continued disruptions in production, fears arose around the potential for tightened supply chains and persistent shortages.
Discussing the effect that ammonia markets can have on the CO2 industry at gasworld’s Europe CO2 Summit, Jennifer Willis-Jones from Fertiliser Week spoke about the interplay between the two sectors in her talk which took a deep dive into nitrogen fertilisers.
