The National Centre for the Advancement of Semiconductor Technology (Natcast) has appointed Deirdre Hanford as its founding CEO and trustee.
A new, purpose-built independent non-profit entity, Natcast was created to become the operator of the National Semiconductor Technology Centre (NSTC) consortium, once established.
Hanford has been a key executive at US-based semiconductor specialist Synopsys for 36 years. Here she held various roles and primarily focused on the innovation of the semiconductor design community and ecosystem.
She has also served on many industry advisory boards, including being a leader in the Department of Commerce’s Industrial Advisory Committee, formed through the CHIPS Act.
