Mexico Pacific has signed its third liquefied natural gas (LNG) sales and purchase agreement with ExxonMobil LNG Asia Pacific (EMLAP) for an additional 1.2 million tonnes per annum of product.
Under terms of the deal, the LNG will be supplied on a free-on-board basis over a 20-year term from Train 3 of Mexico Pacific’s Saguaro Engergia project, located on the west coast of Mexico.
Ivan Van der Walt, CEO of Mexico Pacific, said the latest LNG sales and purchase agreement with ExxonMobil concludes the LNG sales required for a subsequent Train 3 financial investment decision expected this year.
He continued, “With key contracting permits in place across the terminal and pipeline, we are well positioned to sanction the project, connecting the Permian Basin gas with the world’s largest LNG market in Asia to provide reliable and cost-effective LNG to support the energy transition.”
