Mexico Pacific CEO moves to SVP role at Woodside’s Louisiana LNG

Australia’s Woodside Energy has confirmed Sarah Bairstow will join in early May as Senior Vice-President for Louisiana LNG.

Bairstow has significant international LNG and energy leadership experience and executed over $140bn of gas and LNG transactions.

She joined Mexico Pacific in January 2019, where she developed the company and its projects development strategy working with gas and LNG markets, governments, and capital markets.

The appointment follows US-based infrastructure investment firm Stonepeak buying a 40% interest in Louisiana LNG Infrastructure.

The large-scale project, located in the Gulf Coast LNG corridor with its natural gas resources and direct access to the US Gulf, forecasts total permitted capacity of 27.6 million tonnes per annum and is nearing final investment decision for the foundation development.

Despite the impetus behind LNG from the new US administration, which is lifting export permits and fast-tracking infrastructural development, concerns persist over demand and supply dynamics and gas pricing, particularly in the current climate with uncertainty surrounding US tariffs.
