The Messer Group has branched out into a new market in Romania, that of the furniture industry.
According to the group’s On Air publication, Messer is providing liquid carbon dioxide for added comfort in furniture foam.
Its first customer in the sector is Vitafoam, a Moravita-based company that manufacturers foam for beds, chairs and sofas. This foam is thought to be made more comfortable by treating it with liquid carbon dioxide.
As part of the agreement, Messer will be supplying Vitafoam with 25 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, as well as nitrogen in cylinder bundles.
