Meritus partners with East Bay Welding Supply

Meritus Gas Partners has partnered with East Bay Welding Supply (East Bay), a California-based distributor of packaged gases and welding supplies.

East Bay was founded in 1989 by Steve Evans and Rick Lindgren to give customers an alternative to the majors.

Evans expanded, “We saw an opportunity and, along with our dedicated employees, grew the business successfully since our inception. We prioritised the customer and offered them unmatched service.”

Today, the company serves the greater San Francisco Bay Area from its two locations in Martinez and Antioch.

“We chose Meritus as a partner to ensure that East Bay continues to operate as it has historically and provides our customers with exceptional service,” Evans added.

Founded in December 2020, Meritus is a portfolio company of AEA Investors Small Business Private Equity. The company continues to assemble a national network of independent distributors of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, as well as welding and safety supplies, located in diverse geographies and serving growing end-markets.

Steve Bogard, Vice-President of Meritus, described East Bay as an excellent fit for Meritus.
