Mankind has been relying on medicinal gases being supplied to them in various types of gas ‘containers’ for over 120 years.
In that time a wide range of gases, but predominantly medical oxygen, has been delivered for several differing procedures and modern healthcare systems, by means of a gas containing package – cylinders.
Though the earliest recorded use of oxygen in medicinal applications was at the end of the nineteenth century, its real benefits came to light during the First World War for treating victims exposed to poison gases such as chlorine. Then from 1918 onwards, aided by its increased low cost production, oxygen therapy began to be provided on a much wider scale.
