MAN Energy Solutions and Shell are partnering on low-carbon energy solutions, including carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) and green fuels innovation, to support a Net Zero future.
Under terms of a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the two companies will look to combine their individual technologies to best support end-users.
One key focus of the partnership will be optimising CCUS plants to reduce costs. It is hoped this will be achieved through the modularisation and standardisation of CCUS compressor solutions.
There are currently 18 large-scale facilities across the globe that utilise MAN’s CO2 compression technology, with Shell itself having installed the solution at its commercial-scale CCUS project located at an oil-sand operation in Alberta, Canada.
