Luxfer Gas Cylinders will invest more than £1m in a new production facility to support gas pipelines that can distribute hydrogen across the UK and Europe.
Set for production next year (2024), the site will produce multiple element gas containers – or MEGCs – to support Europe in its decarbonisation goals for 2030 and beyond.
Specifically, Luxfer’s G-Stor™ Hydrosphere range will be manufactured at the site in both 20-foot, 40-foot, and 45-foot solutions that can store up between 0.5 and 1.4 tonnes of clean gas.
It is hoped that the new facility will make hydrogen both more affordable and accessible.
