Sweden-based electrofuel specialist Liquid Wind and a roster of energy partners have announced plans to develop and market ten additional e-methanol facilities in the Nordics by 2027.
Formed in 2020 among key partners Alfa Laval, Carbon Clean, Siemens Energy and Topsoe, the collaboration aims to advance its shared vision of creating a world that no longer relies on fossil fuels.
Announced today (Nov 9th), the partnership will increase production efficiency to ramp up design and execution of plants to produce a nominal 100,000 tonnes of e-methanol per year with the aim to develop and market an addition ten Core e-methanol plants (CMP) before the end of 2027.
Built on the back of its FlagshipONE e-methanol facility, the partners’ common mission is to build 80 standardised 100,000 tonnes e-methanol units by 2030 – a move estimated to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 14m tonnes per annum.
