Linde has confirmed that John Panikar, the company’s Executive Vice-President for APAC, has retired after 33 years with the industrial gas giant.
Panikar was appointed in 2021, based out of Singapore, and led the company’s business strategy and growth in the region, as well as its efforts in sustainability, diversity, and inclusion.
Binod Patwari, Managing Director of the South Pacific Region at Linde, has been announced as his replacement.
In the role, Patwari will be responsible for all APAC operations, executing business plans, and developing strategics for the region.
According to gasworld Business Intelligence, the APAC region is worth $26.32m, with China and Japan being the largest industrial gas markets.
Linde is thought to be responsible for a quarter (25%) of the industrial gas market in the region, gasworld Business Intelligence further suggests.
