Linde will supply liquid hydrogen and related infrastructure for one of the world’s first operational hydrogen-powered ferries which will transport both cars and passengers.
The industrial gas giant today (8th March) confirmed the news as part of a new contract with Norwegian ferry operator Norled.
Under the contract, Linde will provide a full-service solution for the MF Hydra ferry. Liquid hydrogen will be supplied from Linde’s new 24MW electrolyser located at the Lenua Chemical Complex in Germany.
In addition to supplying the hydrogen, Linde will also build and install onshore and onboard hydrogen storage, distribution and safety equipment.
