Linde is to spend an additional $3bn on decarbonising its own operations in a bid to maintain its momentum in achieving Net Zero.
The industrial gas giant today (29th July) confirmed the investment when it published its 2023 Sustainable Development Report, which details its progress towards sustainability.
Linde is targeting a 35% reduction in greenhouse gas intensity by 2028 and aiming for carbon neutrality by 2050. The company has a pipeline of projects valued at up to $50bn over the next decade, focusing on clean energy, including hydrogen production, carbon capture, and storage.
In the latest publication, Linde said it has reduced its absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 4.4% compared with the 2021 baseline for its 2025 emissions reduction target.
