Linde has announced that its Indian entities have entered into long-term agreements to supply industrial gases to the Panipat refinery of the Indian Oil Corporation, located in Northern India.
The deals will see the delivery of hydrogen, nitrogen and compressed dry air to Indian Oil’s Panipat refinery which is set to increase its annual production capacity from 15 to 25m metric tonnes.
Industrial gases play a key role in the oil refining process, serving various functions including the removal of sulphur to produce cleaner fuels, the transformation of crude oil into diverse product streams and the cleansing and purging of process equipment and control instruments.
Moloy Banerjee, President ASEAN & South Asia at Linde, enthused over the new venture, stating, “We secured this project due to the exceptional efficiency offered by our cutting-edge technology, coupled with Linde’s distinguished track record in delivering safe and reliable solutions to our customers.”
