Linde and Schlumberger (SLB) have joined forces to decarbonise the industrial and energy sectors with carbon capture, utilisation and sequestration (CCUS) projects.
Under plans laid out in a strategic collaboration, the duo today (31st Oct) said they would focus on hydrogen and ammonia production, where carbon dioxide (CO2) is a by-product, and on natural gas processing.
Linde and SLB plan to combine their collective experience in CO2 capture and sequestration, including their innovative technology portfolios, their project development and execution expertise, and their combined engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) capabilities.
Sanjiv Lamba, CEO of Linde, called the alliance a “key lever for tackling global warming” since CCUS abates the emissions from energy-intensive industries, creating new low-carbon energy sources and products.
