Linde India Ltd (formerly BOC India Ltd) has begun commercial production at the second of its two air separation units (ASU) at Tata Steel’s plant in the state of Odisha, India.
The plant has started gas supply to the company’s plant at Kalinganagar, Odisha.
Under this contract, the company had undertaken construction of two air separation units with a total capacity of 2,400 tonnes per day (tpd) at Tata Steel’s premises in Kalinganagar for supplying gases to Tata Steel, as well as additional liquid product for the merchant markets.
The units will supply gaseous oxygen, nitrogen and argon to the steelworks currently under construction.
