SPX Corporation announced that its Cooling Technologies business has received an order from The Linde Group.
The order is to supply the dry cooling system for the air separation units of the Shell Pearl complex scheduled to be built in the Ras Lafan Industrial City in Qatar.
The contract represents the largest dry cooling project SPX has been awarded outside the power generation industry and is expected to be the largest air cooled condenser installation in the petrochemical gas-to-liquids industry.
The Shell Pearl complex is expected to begin production in late 2009.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
