The Linde Group has signed a long-term industrial gas supply contract with Sadara Chemical Company. The agreement will supply a facility soon to become the world’s largest chemical complex ever built in a single phase.
The contract will secure the supply of carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen (H2) and ammonia (NH3) to the Sadara facility in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
The on-site gases agreement will include a HyCO facility for the production of CO and H2 plus an ammonia plant. Linde will be investing a total of $380m in the project.
Professor Dr Aldo Belloni, Member of the Executive Board of Linde AG, described the contract as an, “excellent opportunity from several perspectives.” He explained, “It is Linde’s largest on-site petrochemical project in this region, and our first in Jubail. It thus strengthens our position as a global leader in the generation and supply of carbon monoxide for MDI and TDI production plants at integrated chemical hubs.”
