Cleveland-based Lincoln Electric has launched a new virtual reality headset to introduce students to welding fundamentals and spark interest in welding-based careers.
The Voyage™ Arc virtual reality welding headset incorporates video gaming elements, aimed at a younger demographic, and offers 10 individual lessons to educate a user.
As the learner masters each lesson, they are rewarded with “spark” points they can use to customise their helmets.
When students use the Voyage Arc all-in-one headset, they are transported to a virtual amusement park where they are tasked with “welding” park equipment before earning a virtual ride.
