Renewable green hydrogen producer Lhyfe is set to establish its inaugural green hydrogen plant in Spain with a daily production capacity of up to five tonnes having secured a grant of up to €14 million ($15.2m) from H2 Pioneros.
Situated in Vallmoll (Tarragona) within an industrial precinct, the plant aims to meet the escalating demand for green hydrogen from various industrial entities in the region.
Currently engaged in the construction of seven sites across Europe, Life emphasises its commitment to renewable hydrogen production with approximately 200 employees dedicated to projects spanning 11 countries and boasting a pipeline exceeding 10 GW (gigawatts) in Europe.
The green hydrogen produced will supply companies in chemical and other industrial sectors seeking to transition from fossil fuels to greener alternatives, as well as transport and logistics companies looking to replace their fleets with hydrogen-powered electric vehicles.
