European energy transition specialist Lhyfe has announced the development of a 70 megawatt (MW) green hydrogen plant to be located in Perl, Saarland in southwestern Germany.
Lhyfe plans for the plant to deliver up to 30 tonnes of green hydrogen per day into the pipeline of the mosaHYc hydrogen island network – a 70km long renewable energy infrastructure project that aims to increase the availability of hydrogen for industry in the region.
Specific pipelines around Volkingen, Carling, Bouzonville and Perl are being looked at for their suitability as hydrogen pipelines.
Welcoming the fact that the state of Saarland and the city of Perl are focusing on the rapid expansion of a clean hydrogen infrastructure, Luc Grare, Head of Central & Eastern Europe at Lhyfe, said, “The project will make a significant contribution to providing competitive and cost-competitive green hydrogen for industry in Saarland.”
