Lhyfe is to receive a grant of SEK125.6m (€11m) from investment programme Klimatklivet to develop a renewable hydrogen production system in the southernmost Swedish city of Trelleborg.
Lhyfe is targeting up to 4 tonnes of green hydrogen per day, based on a 10 megawatt (MW) installed electrolysis capacity, which would serve the major transport hub, where 10% of the country’s imports and exports pass through each year. First production is expected in 2027.
The grant will fund development and design phases, and supply of equipment and construction work, representing around 40% of the total investment.
Sarah Wihlborg, Country Manager Sweden at Lhyfe, said it was the first project it had received subsidies for in the Scandinavian country, and proved it was “going in the right direction”.
