Green hydrogen producer Lhyfe has urged the global scientific and industrial spheres to focus on reoxygenating the ocean in a newly published article in Global Change Biology.
Since its launch, Lhyfe has focused on the production of hydrogen at sea by electrolysis of water, producing large quantities of oxygen as a by-product.
As part of the company’s research into ocean oxygenation which started four years ago, Dr. Patricia Handmann, Oxygen Advisor at Lhyfe, highlighted the need to raise awareness amongst stakeholders.
According to the publication, the mitigation of climate change and pollution-related hypoxia and anoxia is a growing challenge for coastal communities.
