European green hydrogen company Lhyfe has announced that it has begun the construction of a hydrogen production plant that is set to be the largest of its kind in Germany.
To be built in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Baden-Württemberg, the plant will produce up to four tonnes per day of green hydrogen based on 10MW (megawatts) of installed capacity to be supplied directly to an industrial park.
Marking Lhyfe’s first production plant outside of France, the facility is the first in a planned network of plants to be operated by Lhyfe and supply green hydrogen across Germany in the coming years
The plant will use renewable electricity obtained from hydro, wind and solar power purchase agreements and will be commissioned in the second half of 2024.
