Indian multinational Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has commissioned a new green hydrogen plant at its AM Naik Heavy Engineering Complex in Hazira, Gujarat, western India.
With production having begun on 20th August, the new plant is designed with an 800 kW (kilowatt) electrolyser capacity and will generate 45 kg of green hydrogen per day, to be used for captive consumption within the company’s Hazira manufacturing complex.
The project also further incorporates renewable energy via a 990kW rooftop solar plant which will power the hydrogen plant alongside a 500kWh Battery Energy Storage system (BESS).
Combining both alkaline (380 kW) and PEM (420 kW) technologies, future plans will include increasing the solar plant capacity to 1.6 MW peak DC.
