KBR has been awarded a contract by INPEX Corporation and LSB Industries to develop a large, 1.1 million tonnes per annum clean ammonia production and export project in the US Gulf Coast.
Under terms of the contract, the US-based engineering company will provide the technology licensing, and engineering design for the commercial-scale plant, designed to capture carbon.
In October 2023, LSB Industries, INPEX Corporation, Air Liquide, and Vopak Moda said they would collaborate on the pre-front-end engineering and design for a large-scale, low-carbon ammonia production and export project on the Houston Ship Channel.
At the time, the partners said they hoped the plant would be operational by the end of 2027.
