Ohio-based cylinder supplier Kaplan Industries has unveiled a new high-pressure cylinder for hydrogen and other industrial gases.
Unveiled today (12th Nov), the ISO 6000 PSI, type 2 carbon fibre-wrapped cylinder meets the requirements of ISO 11119 and ISO 11623.
Additionally, the cylinder is a lighter weight solution – weighing 50lbs – while offering the same capacity as the current steel 6000 PSI cylinders on the market.
Offering a 50 lb. reduction per cylinder, the product hopes to offer substantial savings in transportation costs, whether for long or short hauls, and benefits both individual use and cradle package applications.
“Kaplan anticipates the first availability of the cylinders in late January to early February 2025,” the company said in a statement.
The design also supports both five-year hydro testing and ultrasonic testing (UT).
