KAG acquires Louisiana’s TransVac to expand service offering

The Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) has acquired Louisiana-based transportation specialist TransVac.

Founded in 2022, TransVac specialises in the transportation of chemicals, water treatment products, and plastic additives.

John Rakoczy, Executive Vice-President of Operations for KAG Specialty Products, welcomed the acquisition stating that it will enhance KAG’s growing chemical storage capabilities.

“The combination [of the companies] provides us with a highly specialised fleet of trailing assets that will allow us to expand our service offering to existing chemical customers with additional capacity, especially in the Louisiana and Arkansas markets.”

At the time of writing, KAG has terminal and satellite locations in 42 states and seven Canadian provinces and territories. The company can deliver within all 48 contiguous states, Canada, and Mexico.

Brooke Roth, Vice-President of Operations at KAG Specialty Products, said that one of the most important aspects of any strategic acquisition is the team and their expertise.

“Through this partnership, we are happy to provide additional career opportunities for TransVac’s professional drivers and operations team, who understand their customers’ business needs and the uniqueness of chemical transportation industry. “

Earlier this year (Feb 2024), KAG acquired Michigan-based Northern Dry Bulk. The transaction added 36 tractors and 91 trailers to its existing fleet.
