The Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) has acquired Evergreen Transport, an Alabama-based transportation company.
As part of the transaction, over 100 professional drivers and 45 operational members will join KAG. The company will also acquire 158 tractors, 338 trailers, and four terminal and satellite locations throughout Alabama.
Rich Hoyle, Executive Vice-President of Dry Bulk at KAG, said that Evergreen’s business model complements KAG’s current dry bulk operations, which the company has been growing over the last 12 months.
Evergreen delivers products such as lime and cement into a variety of end markets.
David Wildberger, President of Evergreen Transport, said, “It is exciting to be an integral part of a new and expanding dry bulk platform, which is capitalising on the strengths of reputable and experienced players in our niche.”
Last year, KAG completed several acquisitions, significantly expanding its fleet, headcount, and footprint.
In its last transaction, in November, the company acquired Texas-based XBL Holdings, along with its subsidiaries Xcel Bulk Logistics and XBL Industrial Materials.
The transaction added 186 tractors, 365 trailers, 10 mobile storage silos, 11 terminal and satellite locations, and three maintenance facilities were added to its fleet. Additionally, 162 professional drivers and 53 operational members will be added to the workforce.
XBL is a dry bulk transport company, providing transportation, storage, and logistics services to industrial gas construction companies. The company operates the largest dry bulk fleet in the Carolinas and has significant capacity throughout the Gulf Coast and the Midwest.
