Japan’s JERA wants to handle over 35 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG), 20GW of renewable energy capacity, and seven million tonnes of hydrogen and ammonia by 2035.
The company unveiled its targets today (16th May) as part of a new growth strategy that sets a path for achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
Within its strategy, JERA identified LNG, renewables, and hydrogen/ammonia as three key business pillars to achieve its long-term goal. JERA further streamlined its effort across these markets into three key areas: business development, optimisation, and O&M.
