Japan Air Gases reported this week that it has been affected in the Tohoku and Kanto areas by the recent earthquake, and is “doing its best to restore its gas production facility” as far as possible.
The company will temporarily evacuate its Tokyo headquarters and move to safer premises, including its Amagasaki site in Amagasaki-city, Hyogo. JAG warned customers that telecommunications might not be available during the transfer.
The company has been affected by damage to infrastructure including electrical and water supplies. It said that power outages and aftershocks had impacted production, adding that traffic difficulties and fuel shortages were also affecting deliveries.
The company pledged to do its best to meet orders, and is prioritising oxygen delivery for hospitals for medical emergencies. “However, there is the possibility to have to adjust delivery volume and time,” JAG said, apologising for the inconvenience. “We would like to extend a heartfelt expression of our sympathy for those who have been affected by the Great Tohoku-Kanto Earthquake,” the company added.
