ITM Power has signed a fuel contract to supply hydrogen (H2) to the Metropolitan Police as part of a multimillion pound government boost which will deliver the largest expansion of H2 refuelling infrastructure ever undertaken in the UK.
Last month, the UK-based firm announced it will receive £4.3m out of a total £8.8m OLEV (Office for Low Emission Vehicles) funding to build four new H2 refuelling stations and to upgrade five existing H2 stations which will increase capacity to support a larger fleet of fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). The funding will also support the roll out of 200 new FCEVs over the next 12 months.
