US-based electrofuels (e-fuels) company Infinium has launched what it says is the world’s first commercial scale facility making drop-in ready e-fuels.
Located in Corpus Christi, Texas, the plant is part of the company’s Project Pathfinder, an initiative to produce synthetic, ultra-low carbon e-fuels that can be used for heavy transportation and chemical processes.
The company combines green hydrogen and captured carbon dioxide (CO2) to produce petroleum-based products such as sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF), eDiesel and eNaptha.
According to the company, its e-fuels are the only drop-in ready e-fuels produced in North America to receive ISCC Plus certification from International Sustainability and Carbon Certification.
