Electrofuels provider Infinium has manufactured a tonne of its proprietary, patented CO2 conversion catalyst at its US facility in West Sacramento, California.
The Infinium catalyst is a critical component in the creation of electrofuels (e-Fuels), a new class of synthetic fuels that replace carbon-intensive petroleum-based products.
According to Infinium, its e-fuels are made from renewable energy derived green hydrogen and capture CO2 in a proprietary process. At the heart of their process is a novel catalyst that facilitates a chemical reaction that results in the creation of synthetic fuels.
Robert Schuetzle, CEO at Infinium, said: “From the beginning, we have been developing projects based on our own proprietary technology which increases our efficiency and reduces our costs. Catalyst production at scale in our own facility is an important milestone in our journey to delivering commercial volumes of e-Fuels in 2023 and beyond.”
