Engineering firm Hysytech has announced that it will construct a biogas upgrading and biomethane liquefaction plant for the production of Bio-liquefied natural gas (LNG) for renewable energy company BIOGAS I JÄMTLAND-HÄRJEDALEN (BIOGAS).
To be produced from household organic waste collected in the city of Ostersund and the wider Jamtland region, the Bio-LNG will be used as a renewable fuel in the decarbonisation of the transport sector.
Expected to start up in the early 2025, the plant will produce up to seven tonnes per day (tpd) of Bio-LNG at a flow rate of up to 700 Nm3/h (normal cubic metres per hour).
Having been awarded the full turn-key scope of the project, Hysytech will handle the process equipment used to upgrade biogas to biomethane.
